Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama encouraged students he met during his week-long tour in Vanua Levu to dream big and achieve their dreams.

The Honourable Prime Minister met students of various schools in Macuata and Cakaudrove during his visit to commission the grid extension projects.

This included schools like Nasasa Primary School in Macuata, where Mr Bainimarama sat with the students of Year 7 and 8 to ask them about their future career choices.

Some students said they wanted to become teachers, while others were interested in studying medicine.

Another school, Navatu Secondary, received electricity for the first time.

After 29 years of managing dark nights the students can finally study in the evenings and enjoy electricity in their classrooms and hostels.

Parents who gathered at the commissioning of the project thanked Mr Bainimarama for considering their children’s plight and installing electricity in the area.

Selai Nanivoi, a student’s guardian described the assistance as a sigh of relief for many students, especially boarders who were not able to study at night.

During this visit, Mr Bainimarama also launched the Walesi television program for students of Seaqaqa Primary School.
